We believe security is an essential business in our chaotic and often dangerous world.


Those who are hired to perform as security officers in the state of Texas have a minimum training benchmark set forth by the state, which we offer, but at Mid-Texas Security Training Academy we motivate the officer to seek improvement beyond the base level of education through coaching and training to a higher standard.

Please be advised under the Private Security Act (Occ. Code Chapter 1702) and Administrative Rule 35.4 (37 Tex. Admin. Code 1), a criminal conviction may disqualify you from a registration, commission or license under the Act. You may wish to review Rule 35.4’s list of disqualifying offenses and the related periods of ineligibility, available on the department’s website here.

You also have a right to request from the department a criminal history evaluation letter under Occupations Code Section 53.102.
Students have 90 days from date of purchase to complete the online classroom training (unless specific exception is coordinated with Mid-Texas Securtiy Training Academy, LLC, in writing).

Our Courses

Noncommissioned Security Officer (Level II)

Complete your Level II Security Officer certification and gain the skills to perform patrols, manage access control, and respond to emergencies — all while meeting Texas security industry standards.

Level II

Commissioned Security Officer (Level III)

Level III Security Officer training focuses on advanced protection skills, including armed security, defensive tactics and emergency response, preparing officers to safeguard people and property at a higher level of responsibility.

Level III/PPO Recertification

The Texas Security Level III & IV Recertification Course is a state-approved refresher covering law, report writing, defensive tactics, crime-scene integrity, and use of force, culminating in range qualification with your firearm. Must be Level III to recertify Level III and Level IV to recertify as Level III & IV.

Oleoresin Capsicum (Pepper) Spray Certification

Train in this highly effective non-lethal means of self-defense and become certified to carry OC Spray as a Level III Officer.

Advanced Security Officer Pistol Defense Course

Pistol accuracy is reduced by at least 50% under extreme stress. If you want to have a better baseline for your shooting skills, join us for our Advanced Security Pistol Course. We will take you from mere basic proficiency to mastering your firearm.

Advanced Security Officer Training

Worship Center and School Safety Team Training

Equip your congregation’s safety team with essential skills. Learn risk assessment, emergency response, and effective communication to keep your congregation safe. Other courses available to add in.

If your school is too small to have your own police force and costs of hiring off-duty police officers or a security contract company are prohibitive, Texas law allows staff members to be trained to provide essential safety for students in school.
